Base in San Francisco, Astoria was initially spun-out of Xerox Corporation, the document company. In 2010, TransPerfect, a world leader in translation service, and Astoria Software announced their merger. A key benefit of the merger will be the integration of the two companies' technologies. TransPerfect develops a family of GMS (Globalization Management System) software products known as GlobalLink. Clients seeking to author and translate global content in XML while adhering to DITA standards will experience the greatest gains from the integration of Astoria Software and TransPerfect technologies.
